About the Waltzer Wiygul & Garside Law Firm

A firm borne of idealism and the civil rights struggles of the 1960’s, Waltzer Wiygul & Garside continues a proud heritage of providing quality community based representation to traditionally under-served communities and causes. Together, we represent private and public interest groups nationwide, individuals, and the communities with environmental and legal challenges.

Our representation of environmental interests ranges widely from individual property owners in takings cases to indigenous tribes in South Terrebonne, whose ancestral lands are among the most quickly disappearing land masses on Earth. Recently, we represented the Sierra Club in obtaining a federal injunction to prevent the completion of a multibillion dollar coal-fired power plant in Arkansas.

With the onset of the oil spill, we have devoted much of our efforts to the response, reform, and restoration of our people and our coastlines. We represent a number of environmental non-profits who have challenged the lax governmental oversight of offshore drilling. We were first responders in contract claims under the Vessels of Opportunity Program and the Native American tribal claim for loss of subsistence use of natural resources. We continue to organize, advise, and litigate for fairness and compliance from BP, Transocean, Halliburton and other named defendants for our fishermen, oystermen, seafood docks and processors, property owners, and myriad others impacted by the spill.

Our pledge to provide quality service coupled with our knowledgeable, capable staff has earned us a proven track record and clients who have become lifelong friends. Our sought-after expertise in environmental, small business, insurance and personal injury law demonstrates our commitment to your success. At Waltzer Wiygul & Garside Law Firm, we strive to find justice and solutions for the community and for our environment.
